KAREN WHITTEY APPOINTED CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF NEW FULL-SERVICE BRANDING AND ADVERTISING AGENCY WITHIN DKC
DKC is thrilled to announce the launch of BR&, a new full-service branding and advertising arm. This is the latest of several strategic launches by DKC aimed at providing clients with a 360-degree approach to communications solutions.
BR& is headed by Karen Whittey, Vice President, Creative Director. Karen brings more than 20 years of experience in brand design, advertising, strategy development and digital marketing services to BR&. Prior to joining BR&, Karen played an integral role in Denihan Hospitality’s brands, refreshing The Surrey and The Benjamin hotel’s identity and is a founding member of The James Hotels, where she aided in The James design direction and oversaw the evolution into its position as a highly competitive force in the luxury boutique segment. Previously, Karen served as SVP Creative Director at Grey Global Group, leading the growth of the W Hotels brand. She led the creative direction on Starwood’s launch of the first W Hotel, and continued with the brand for 7 years, opening 20 new properties throughout the US and Mexico. While at Grey she also launched successful beauty brands such as LipFusion by FusionBeauty, Dessert by Jessica Simpson, and Clean perfume. Her entertainment design work has a global presence through the graphics for the theatre production of Disney’s The Lion King.
